A few things you might be wondering.
Straight answers before you book. If there’s anything else, our team is a phone call away.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Not on any job, not at busy times, not ever. Every person on your roof is part of our own team, carrying their own CSCS card, and the people who came out and quoted your job are the people who will finish it. It is the reason we keep the team deliberately small: the moment you start subcontracting to keep up with volume, you stop being able to guarantee the standard of the work.
Are you insured?
Yes, we carry public liability cover and are happy to provide the certificate before any work is booked in. Ask when you call and we will send it across; you should not take that on trust from anyone working at height on your property.
What does the 2-year workmanship guarantee actually cover?
It covers our labour, the way the work was carried out. If something we fitted fails because of how we fitted it, we come back and put it right at no cost to you. That runs alongside the manufacturer's warranty on the materials themselves, which is generally much longer and covers the product rather than the installation. Between the two, a failure is covered whichever side it falls on. We will confirm both in writing with your quote so there is no ambiguity later.
Do you handle emergency repairs?
Yes. Storm damage and active leaks are answered outside our normal hours. Call 07933 348 522 and you will get a person rather than a call centre. If it is genuinely unsafe to work at height that night, we will tell you so honestly, make the roof secure as best we can, and come back to do the permanent repair properly rather than bodging it in the dark and the wind.
How quickly can you come out and quote?
Usually within a few days across Worthing, Goring-by-Sea and East Preston, and within a week for Brighton, Woodingdean and Arundel. Emergencies jump the queue. We quote in writing after actually getting up and looking at the roof, not from the pavement, and not from a photograph, because neither tells you what is going on under the tiles.
Do you work on flat roofs as well as pitched?
Both, and flat roofing is proper work in its own right here rather than something we tack onto the end of a pitched roof quote. Extensions, dormers, garages, porches and balconies, in torch-on felt, EPDM or fibreglass. We will always look at the deck and the falls underneath before quoting, because that is what actually decides how long a flat roof lasts.
What happens if the weather turns partway through my job?
We never strip more roof than we can make watertight the same day. That is the whole discipline of it: the roof goes back to a secure state every evening, and if a forecast means we cannot safely open up a section, we do not open it up. It can add a day or two to a job in a bad week. We would far rather tell you that up front than get your roof open and then watch it rain into your loft.
